Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign
December 2, 2020
In this season of giving, we are reminded of the importance of giving back. A great way to do this is to donate to a charity through the Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (CVC). The needs of these charities are greater than ever with declining resources, and an increased demand for food, shelter, medical care, and financial support.
The 2020 CVC Campaign runs until Friday, December 11. If you have not already done so, please consider making a donation or pledge to this year’s campaign through the CVC Website.
The campaign includes a selection of approximately 1,000 charities.
There are several options to donate, including:
- Payroll deduction through a one-time gift or monthly payments;
- Cash or check, credit card payment through cvcgives.org (using the agency code 208 – Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University); or
- Using a monetary direct give payment through the direct give form to receive credit for donating to a CVC-approved charity and Virginia Tech’s direct giving.
Laura Sands, a professor in the Center for Gerontology and the Department of Human Development and Family Science, is honorary chair of this year’s campaign. Representing the college on the CVC Steering Committee is Debra Stoudt, a professor of German and associate dean for academic policies and procedures.
