To reduce the number of emails faculty and staff receive, the Office of the Dean compiles announcements — as well as resources relevant to the college community, including graduate students and undergraduates — on this page. This effort is intended to supplement the Virginia Tech Ready site, which offers the university’s latest guidelines and remains the best source of information in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Faculty and Staff

Virginia Tech has encapsulated its plan for the Fall 2020 semester in the Ready site, which includes a dashboard designed to convey a snapshot of campus health, as well as the university’s latest pandemic-related guidelines and updates. Some of the more relevant sections for faculty and staff include:

Instruction
The Ready site’s resources for instructional faculty section includes information on undergraduate and graduate students, course offerings, classroom distancing, and research protocols.

Resources for Employees

The For Employees section includes links to such resources as the Wellness Commitment, the Employee Checklist, testing guidelines, and the academic calendar.

Human Resources Information
To complement the Ready site, the Division of Human Resources offers Ready Resources for Employees, which provides information specific to faculty and staff, such as what employees need to know before returning to campus, telework guidelines, benefits, leave, and wellness.

The Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost offers a range of resources for faculty members and other instructors, including graduate teaching assistants. Many of those resources are also available on the university’s Ready site.
