Academic Programs
Currently, all degree and certificate programs in the Virginia Tech School of Education (SOE) are at the Graduate level. Dedicated to the success and continuing development of our students, faculty and staff in the SOE offers a wide range of educational degree programs and continuing education options, including graduate certificates, educational specialist credentials (Ed.S.), teacher licensure programs, Master's degree programs (M.A.Ed. and M.S.), and doctoral programs (Ed.D. and Ph.D.).
We offer programs in Teacher Education and Preparation in a variety of disciplines, Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, Higher Education, Counselor Education and Supervision, Instructional Design and Technology, Educational Psychology, and the interdisciplinary program, Foundations in Education.
Undergraduates, did you know that we offer Pathways courses? Or that our Teacher Preparation and Education programs are Virginia Tech Approved Accelerated UG/GR Programs? This means that you can start your studies in education during your senior year, and in one additional academic year for most programs, you can earn both a Master's degree and your Virginia teaching licensure, allowing you to start your career at a higher pay scale. Our advisors in the Pre-Education Advising Program are happy to work with you as you prepare for this step. Interested in one of our other programs?
