School of Education Resources

The School of Education has a wide variety of support offices and systems in place to facilitate the timely processing of requests and to ensure you have the resources you need. Below, you'll find some helpful links to forms and information on our website. 

Office of the Director:
Notice of Intent to Submit a Proposal 
  • Complete this form if you plan to be involved in a proposal submission (either internal or external). This initial notification should be made at least two weeks prior to a proposal’s due date.

University Resources

The University has a wide variety of support offices and systems in place to facilitate the timely processing of requests and to ensure you have the resources you need. Below, you'll find some helpful links to forms and information on our website. 

Human Resources:
  • Time Clock Plus (for use by SOE staff/employees on hourly wage)
  • Employee Benefits (for use by SOE faculty/staff/students who are requesting travel funding support)
  • Employee Relations (employees and supervisors can share personal and work-related information in order to get help or advice that will help them meet their performance goals)
  • Policies and Handbooks for Employees (Faculty, Staff, and wage employee policies and handbooks may be found here)
  • Moving and Relocation Resources (relocation resources for new and current employees moving to an area where Virginia Tech has a significant presence)
 

(Note: Requests submitted through this form must be made by a member of the School of Education faculty ONLY, and are subject to the SOE Director's review and approval)

Adding life and excitement to our documents, presentations, and materials is always an interesting challenge. Below are links to websites with free resources. Please ensure that you credit the artists and creators as requested on that website. We welcome suggestions from our faculty, staff, and students as you discover worthy additions. Please vet these before you send them our way. 

ClipArt etc from the University of South Florida

Pexels.com is a rich resource of free videos and photos

Unsplash is another rich source of free images.

Wikimedia Commons has over 70M freely usable media files

Openclipart has a wide variety of clipart available.

Looking for textures to add interest to presentations, websites, or media? Freestock Textures is a great source.

The Noun Project's mission is to build a global visual language. 

YouTube offers an audio library with clips of free music and sound effects for your use.

The CLAHS maintains an extensive Knowledge Base with many links and insights into how their operations work and answers to a wide variety of questions you may have. Some of their SOE-specific information may be out of date, however. If you have questions, please email soecommunications@vt.edu for clarification.
