Excellence in Offerings / Proven Success

Virginia Tech’s School of Education is a global catalyst for individual and social transformation through education, applied research, and advocacy. With programs for prospective teachers, educational leaders, school counselors and mental health clinicians, counselor educators, and leaders in higher education, you can find your own pathway to contribute to the greater good.

Undergraduate Teacher Preparation Programs

For students starting in the Fall of 2020 semester or later, we now offer teacher preparation programs in Career & Technical Education - Agriculture (grades 6-12),  Elementary Education (grades K-6)English Education (grades 6-12), History & Social Science Education (grades 6-12), and Mathematics Education (grades 6-12).

Interested in becoming a teacher in a different academic area, or are you a student who entered Virginia Tech before Fall 2020? Our Master's degree level Teacher Preparation programs are Virginia Tech Approved Accelerated UG/GR Programs. This means that you can start your studies in education during your senior year, and in one additional academic year (for most programs), you can earn both a master’s degree and be prepared for your Virginia teaching licensure, allowing you to start your teaching career at a higher pay scale. See our teacher preparation programs for more details!
