Interested in becoming a teacher in a different academic area, or are you a student who entered Virginia Tech before Fall 2020? Our Master's degree level Teacher Preparation programs are Virginia Tech Approved Accelerated UG/GR Programs. Start your teacher preparation education studies during your senior year, and in one additional academic year (for most programs), you can earn both a master’s degree and be prepared for your Virginia teaching licensure, allowing you to start your teaching career at a higher pay scale. See our teacher preparation programs for more details!
We offer programs in Teacher Preparation, Teacher Professional Development, and for Provisionally Licensed Teachers in a variety of disciplines, and in School Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and Counselor Education and Supervision. Our Principal & Supervisor Preparation and Educational Leadership and Policy Studies programs are preparing the next generation of leaders for PK-12 school systems, while our Higher Education programs are preparing leaders for post-secondary institutions. Our robust educational studies offerings include Educational Psychology, Educational Research and Evaluation, and the interdisciplinary program, Foundations of Education.
