In the spring of 2022 the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences recognized the following faculty and staff members with awards in advising, teaching, diversity, outreach, research and creative scholarship, and employee excellence.

Certificate of Teaching Excellence recipients were: Gena Chandler, Department of English; Carolyn Commer, Department of English; Kirsten Rutsala, Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures; Hannah Wildman Short, Department of Philosophy; Heidi Williams, Department of Sociology; and Tingting Zhao, Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures.

An Excellence in Advising Award was presented to Victoria Lael, Department of Human Development and Family Science, and Jordan MacKenzie, Department of Philosophy.

Diversity Award winners were Elisabeth Austin, Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures, and Rebecca Hester, Department of Science, Technology, and Society.

Donna Sedgwick, Department of Sociology, was the recipient of the Land Grant Scholar Award.

Excellence in Outreach and International Initiatives Award recipients were Ragheda Nassereddine, Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures, and Katalin Parti, Department of Sociology.

Scotty Hardwig, School of Performing Arts; Anthony Kwame Harrison, Department of Sociology; Tonisha Lane, School of Education; and Sonja Schmid, Department of Science, Technology, and Society, received the Excellence in Research and Creative Scholarship Award.

The Staff Employee of the Year Award was presented to Blake Smith, departments of Religion and Culture, Science, Technology, and Society, and Sociology. Staff members Samantha Brodie, Department of Sociology, and LaRhonda Kellison, School of Performing Arts, received Honorable Mention.
