Bill Roth, a professor in the School of Communication, will return to the role of play-by-play announcer for Virginia Tech Football in Fall 2022. Roth previously held this position for 27 seasons, stepping down in 2015. He will continue as a Professor of Practice in the Sports Media and Analytics Program in the School of Communication.
