Katherine L. Hall is a career educator who has taught in different countries and contexts during her thirty-plus years in education. Her journey began as a high school English teacher and has continued to her last post before Virginia Tech, which was at Khalifa University in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates where she taught composition, public speaking and business communications. She has taught and trained others in Guadalajara, Mexico; Geneva, Switzerland; Cairo, Egypt; Dubai, UAE; and Abu Dhabi, UAE.  She has conducted workshops for the United Nations in Geneva and Cairo, Etisalat in UAE, the Ministry of Education in UAE and other teacher-training entities. Her work with students and their international projects has also led her to take students to countries all over the world, including multiple trips to the USA for Design Build Fly, CanSat and Boeing, as well as to South Korea for KAIST and visits to Samsung.  She completed her B.A. in English at Christopher Newport University, M.A. in English at Virginia Tech and Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction at Virginia Tech. She originally hails from Hampton, Virginia.
