Program Overview

Teaching Marketing, a Teaching Job Like No Other

You found us, which tells us you know the power of marketing. Marketing brings customers, producers, and sellers together from around the country and the world, resulting in swift-moving changes, providing exciting and fast-paced experiences for you and for your students. Teaching Marketing is like no other teaching job one has ever seen and offers opportunities for you:

  • Working with high school students
  • Working with business partners in the business community
  • Placing and supervising students in actual marketing positions and coordinating that with classroom instruction
  • Taking students to conferences – Orlando, Anaheim, Atlanta, Salt Lake City to name a few! By far, it is the best teaching position in any given school.  It involves the best of both worlds – working with students and working with business leaders in the local community!

By far, it is the best teaching position in any given school.  It involves the best of both worlds – working with students and working with business leaders in the local community!

Why choose this program?

  • There is a critical shortage of business teachers in Virginia.

  • You can earn a Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in marketing and a VT master’s degree in one year.
  • The program can be custom-designed into a hybrid distance program, meaning you only have to spend three weeks in the summer and a fall semester in Blacksburg.  If you would like, the remainder of the program can be completed off campus.
  • The VT CTE program has achieved a 100% placement rate for its’ graduates for the past 10 years!
