XCaliber Award 2021
January 21, 2021
The XCaliber Award — shorthand for exceptional, high-caliber contributions to technology-enriched learning activities — celebrates courses and significant projects that demonstrate exemplary use of technology and student-centered pedagogy.
This annual award is funded by the Office of the Provost and presented by Technology-enhanced Learning and Online Strategies (TLOS) within the Division of Information Technology. Recipients receive a cash award and a commemorative plaque and are invited to showcase their award-winning activities at a special event.
Recent awardees from the departments of Engineering Education, Educational Leadership, Political Science, and Computer Science integrated technology into their courses by:
- improving students’ spatial visualization skills through hands-on learning.
- building human connections and a genuine learning community among a cohort of physically distributed graduate students.
- helping students engage in a conscientious dialog as they consider another’s point of view.
- teaching students to work through security incidents to gain first-hand experience with security center operations and communication.
