Virginia Tech’s Presidential Principles of Community Awards nomination process is now open.

The Presidential Principles of Community Awards were established in 2014 and recognizes members of the Virginia Tech community who exemplify the Principles of Community and have demonstrated an active commitment to inclusion and diversity at Virginia Tech.

This year, the university will present four awards:

  • long-term contributions made by individuals;
  • recent contributions made by individuals;
  • group initiatives; and
  • department/unit contributions.

Tenure-track, research, administrative/professional faculty, instructors, staff, departments, and teams are eligible. The deadline for nominations is Monday, February 22, 2021, at 5 p.m. Nominations must be submitted online.

The Office for Inclusion and Diversity sponsors the awards. Recipients are selected by the Commission on Equal Opportunity and Diversity, and each will receive a monetary prize. All nominees will be featured in news announcements throughout the year. Visit the Principles of Community Award for guidelines and more information.
