The Center for Humanities invites all full-time faculty members (including non-tenure-track and  tenure-line faculty) at Virginia Tech to submit a proposal for a Virginia Tech Center for Humanities summer grant ($4,000) for summer 2021. The deadline for proposals for a Center for Humanities summer grant is February 15, 2021.

All faculty members are welcome to apply, regardless of rank, classification, or tenure/non-tenure line status. The  center is accepting applications from all departments and all colleges at Virginia Tech. Competitive proposals will identify a humanistic, human-centered topic of research to be supported by the grant.

Proposals must contain the following:

  • Project narrative (maximum of three single-spaced pages) 
  • Bibliography (one-page maximum)
  • CV (two-page maximum)
  • Appendix (optional, two-page maximum) for translations, scholarly editions, and digital projects
