Major Tyler Spadine is a native of Owego, NY and commissioned as an Infantry Officer in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in international studies from the Virginia Military Institute.
MAJ Spadine served in multiple staff and leadership positions to include as a Ranger platoon Leader in the 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. He also served the position as a Assistant Training Operations Officer, and Ranger Company Executive Officer. MAJ Spadine went on to be assigned to 1st Battalion, 87th Infantry regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) Fort Drum, NY and served as a Battalion Plans Officer and Commander of Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 87 Infantry Regiment and Commander of Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment.
MAJ Spadine's deployment experience includes four tours to Afghanistan as a Platoon Leader, Task Force liaison Officer to a multinational headquarters, Ranger Company Executive Officer, and Rifle Company Commander.
MAJ Spadine's military schools include: Infantry Basic Officer Leaders Course, Ranger School, Army Reconnaissance Course, Airborne School, Stryker Leader's Course, Ranger Assessment and Selection Program, Maneuver Captains Career Course, Advanced Land Navigation Course, and Common Faculty Development Instructor Course.
MAJ Spadine's awards and decorations include 2 Bronze Stars, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, 2 Overseas Services Ribbons, NATO Medal, 2 Afghanistan Campaign Medals, Army Commendation Medal, 2 Army Achievement Medals, National Defense Service Medal, and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Ranger Tab, Expert Infantry Badge, and Basic Parachutist Badge.
