Master Sergeant Travis Williams is from Philomath, Oregon. He enlisted in the United States Army as an Infantryman in 2010. MSG Williams most recently served as a Detachment Sergeant Major in the United States Army Special Operations Command.

MSG Williams has served in multiple operational and leadership positions to include Scout Machine Gunner in the Battalion Reconnaissance Platoon, 2-503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team; Scout Assistant Team Leader in C Troop, 1-73rd Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division; and Gun Team Leader, Fire Team Leader, Squad Leader, Section Leader, Operations NCOIC, and Platoon Sergeant in 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment.

MSG Williams has completed nine operational deployments, including seven to Afghanistan, one to Iraq, and one to Africa.

His military education includes Ranger School, Ranger Master Breacher Course, Basic Airborne Course, Jumpmaster Course, and the Ranger Small Arms Leader Course.

MSG Williams is married to his wife Megan, and they have a three-year-old son.
