Sergeant First Class Javier Navejas

SFC Javier Navejas hails from the island of Guam. He enlisted in 2009 out of Shreveport, LA. He attended and graduated Basic Combat Training (BCT) out of Fort Jackson, SC. He attended Advance Individual Training (AIT) at Fort Sill, OK where he earned the title of Patriot Fire Control Enhanced Operator/Maintainer (14E). 

SFC Navejas was first assigned to Alpha Battery, 2nd Battalion, 1st Air Defense Artillery Regiment, and 35th Brigade in the Republic of Korea (ROK) as an Engagement Controller. SFC Navejas second assignment was to Charlie Battery, 1st Battalion, 43rd Air Defense Artillery Regiment, and 11th Brigade in Fort Bliss, TX as an Engagement Controller, Communications Operator, and Team Leader. SFC Navejas was then assigned to Charlie Battery, 5th Battalion, 7th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 10th Army Air Missile Defense Command (AAMDC), Baumholder, Germany as a Tactical Control Assistant (TCA) and Squad Leader. SFC Navejas went on to be assigned to Charlie Battery 1st Battalion, 62nd Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 69th Brigade, as a TCA and within the same Battalion was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Battery (HHB) as Tactical Director Assistant (TDA) and Assistant Operations Sergeant. He was then assigned to Bravo Battery, 3rd Battalion, 6th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 30th Brigade as a Advance Individual Training Instructor.

SFC Navejas, completed his first tour to Bahrain in 2012 to 2013 as a Communications Operator for an Army Missile Defense Crew (AMD) in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. SFC Navejas second tour to Kuwait in 2017 to 2018 in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.

SFC Navejas' military education includes Basic Combat Training (BCT), Advance Individual Training (AIT), Basic Leadership Course (BLC), Advance Leadership Course (ALC), Senior Leadership Course (SLC), Cadre Training Course (CTC), Common Faculty Development Instructor Course (CFDIC), Terminal High Altitude Area Defense Fire Control Communications (TFCC)/ Radar Operator/Maintainer, Combat Life Savers (CLS), Combatives Level 1. 

His Awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal (3), Army Achievement Medal (4), Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Superior Unit Award, Good Conduct Medal (4), Army Service Ribbon, and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal Expeditionary Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (3), Korean Defense Service Medal, overseas service ribbon (4).

SFC Navejas is married for 13 years to Kayla Navejas. They both have two sons Kai and Ian
