Chief Warrant Officer Five (CW5, Retd) Greg Calvert is from Louisville, KY. He began his 33- year career enlisted as both a parachute infantry medic and as a flight paramedic. In 1989 he received his United States Army Warrant as a Rated Aviator, receiving his Commission as a Chief Warrant Officer two in 1992. CW5 (Retd) Calvert retired as the Aviation Mission Survivability and Safety Officer from the Department of Defense Office of Military support.

CW5 (Retd) Calvert served in multiple operational, staff, and leadership positions, to include Electronic Warfare Officer, UH-60A/L Instructor Pilot, and Instrument Flight Examiner with 1-82nd Airborne Division Aviation Brigade, then additionally as a full-time Instructor Pilot and Company Training Officer with E Company, 1-159th Aviation of the North Carolina Army National Guard; Fully Mission Qualified MH-47 Special Operations Aviator with A and B Companies, 2-160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne); Aviation Mission Survivability Officer (AMSO) and tactics instructor for both 2-160th SOAR (A) Battalion Headquarters and the first AMSO on the 160th SOAR (A) Regiment Staff; Company Commander, HHC, 2-160th SOAR (A); Operational Test Pilot with the systems Integration Management Office (SIMO) of the 160th SOAR (A), all at Fort Campbell, KY; Executive Officer, Deployment Team Leader, Forensics Instructor, and Special Operations Liaison, Aircraft Shot Down Assessment Team (ASDAT), Headquarters, Army Aviation Center of Excellence, Fort Novosel, AL; Battalion AMSO for the 1st Military Intelligence Battalion (Aerial Exploitation), Wiesbaden, Germany; Operative Aviator, AMSO, and Aviation Safety Officer (ASO), Office of Military Support, Military District of Washington.

CW5 (Retd) Calvert completed multiple deployments, combat, and contingency operation tours on five continents throughout his career, including Operations Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan), Iraqi Freedom, and Inherent Resolve (Iraq/Syria).

CW5 (Retd) Calvert's professional education includes the Warrant Officer Basic, Advanced, Staff, and Senior Staff Courses; UH-1H/V, AH-1E/F/P, UH-60A/L, CH47D, MH47E, C12D/U, RC12K/X, DHC-8/RO-6A, and numerous non-standard / civil aircraft qualification courses; Instructor Pilot and Instrument Flight Examiner courses; a variety of environmental and situational Survival Evasion Resistance and Escape (SERE) course; industry and academic coursework in electronic warfare and aircraft survivability systems, to include the Army Electronic Warfare Officer and Tactical Operations Officer Courses, and the Georgia Tech Research Institute; the Special Operations Liaison Element (SOLE) Course; the full catalog of Joint Personnel Recovery Agency (JPRA) coursework; numerous courses and operational experience in investigative forensics and operations with various government and civil agencies; and the Operative Training Course. He Graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science from Excelsior University, with additional credit hours in a double major of Atmospheric Sciences (Meteorology) and History. He further earned a post-graduate certificate from the University Of Southern California Viterbi School Of Engineering in Aviation Safety and Security. He is rated as an FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) in rotorcraft and airplanes with ten advanced type ratings spanning over 7000 accident-free flight hours. 

His awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star with V device for valor, the Purple Heart Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2OLC), Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal (2 stars), Afghanistan Campaign Ribbon (3 stars), Iraq Campaign Ribbon (2 Stars), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary and Service Medals Humanitarian Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, NATO Medal, Multinational Forces and Observers Peacekeeping Medal, Army Superior Unit Award, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Valorous Unit Award, Presidential Unit Citation, Parachutist Badge, Expert Field Medical Badge, and Master Army Aviator Badge. 

CW5 (Retd) Calvert is married to the former Dana Christiansen of Asheville, North Carolina, and they have two children, Jessica, and Jack.
