Mrs. Julie Gunion is from Tulsa, OK where she graduated from Jenks High School in 1996. Mrs. Gunion enlisted in the Oklahoma Army National Guard (AGR) in 1997 as a Wheeled Vehicle Repairer (63W) and Servered the Oklahoma AGR till 2005.

Mrs. Gunion positions consist of Supply Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC), Squad Leader, and Platoon Sergeant. She held 4 MOS’s skills such as a Heavy Wheeled Mechanic, Flight Operations, Automated Supply Specialist, and Unit Supply Specialist while in serving in the OK AGR.

Mrs. Gunion has taken many civilian positions to include: Ammunition Manager at McAlester Ammunition Plant, OK from 2005-2007 which entailed providing assistance with demilitarization, characterization, and storage of ammunition. Composite fabricator at Tinker Air Force Base, OK 2007-2011 which entailed repairing, modifying, and manufacturing honeycomb adhesive bonded advanced composite aircraft structures for B1 and KC-135 aircraft. In addition, she was part of the team that utilized Lean Six Sigma methods to lean the Outboard Leading Edge for B-1, Horizontal Stabilizer Tip for the B-1 bomber and the KC-135 Ruddervator to reduce the flow days and accomplish a more workable environment. She was part of the Safety Assessment Team for the base and was a Union representative for her shop. Coal Mine Safety Administrator for Mine Safety and Health Administration 2011-2012 which entailed ensuring all safety reports were accurate and submitted to the Coal Mine Safety Headquarters in Denver, Co. Fort Sill, OK as the Supply Technician to set up the Mobilization site for National Guard units-DYNCORP-2005-2006 which entailed establishing and executing a program for the receipt, issue, inventory, and accounting of equipment for Ft Sill, OK and coordinated with DOL on completion of inspections on all weapons, rolling stock, power generation, communications equipment, and all secondary loads, to include SKOs, ensuring that these items were at Fully Mission Capable plus safety standards. Historian at Fort Gregg-Adams, VA Ordnance Training and Heritage Center to inventory over 10,000 Ordnance Museum Artifacts-CUBIC and SAIC- 2015-2019 which entailed utilizing scholarly methods to determine the historical significance and context of artifacts and works of art and identifying objects and their historical significance by utilizing references to place them in their proper historical context. Mrs. Gunion is currently a Supply Logistics Technician, Virginia Tech/ Radford University which entails ensuring Army ROTC cadets are equipped with the right equipment, transportation, and support to commission as an Army Officers.

Mrs. Gunion’s military and civilian education consist of Primary Leadership Development Course, Automated Logistics Specialist, Personnel and Administrative Course, Aviation operations Specialist Course, Wheeled Vehicle Repairer, Property Book Enhancement Training, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree.

Mrs. Julie Gunion’s awards and decorations consist of Army Achievement Medal (2), Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, Noncommissioned Officer’s Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.

Julie resides in Christiansburg with her husband Tony and 3 kids, Rebecca, Tommy, and Abigail. She enjoys spending time with family and driving her Jeep
