Captain Mark Jackson

CPT Mark Jackson is a native of Memphis, TN. He graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in communication studies. Upon graduation in December 2016, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Ordnance Corps.​

Following the Ordnance Officer's Basic Officers Leaders Course, CPT Jackson was assigned to the 578th Forward Support Company, 1-14 Field Artillery Battalion (HIMARS), Fort Sill, OK, where he served as the Distribution Platoon Leader. In 2017, he served as the Executive Officer, where he deployed to the United Arab Emirates and Jordan in support of Operation Spartan Shield, Operation Inherent Resolve and Operation Freedom's Sentinel.​

​In 2019, CPT Jackson was reassigned to Fort Gregg-Adams, VA, where he completed the Logistics Captain's Career Course. Following the Logistics Captain's Career Course, CPT Jackson was assigned to the 64th Brigade Support Battalion, Fort Carson, CO, where he served as the Plans Officer. In 2021, CPT assumed command of the D-FST, 4-10 CAV, where he deployed to Poland in support of Operation European Assure, Deter, and Reinforce.​

CPT Jackson serves as an Assistant Professor of Military Science at Virginia Tech and Radford University, where he instructs MSIV (Senior Year) Cadets.

CPT Jackson's military schooling includes the Ordnance Officer's Basic Officers Leaders Course, the Transportation Coordinator- Automated Information for Movements System II Course, the Unit Movement Officer Deployment Planning, Logistics Captains Career Course (LOG-C3), and Air Assault School.

CPT Jackson's awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (2 OLC), the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, an Overseas Service Ribbon, and the Air Assault Badge.​

Mark and his spouse, Michelle Jackson, are currently residing in Christiansburg, VA.
