Master Sergeant Jeremy Brown

MSG Jeremy Brown enlisted in the Army in September 2008 as an 11B Infantryman. He completed one station unit training (OSUT) and the Basic Airborne Course at Ft. Benning, GA. Upon completing Initial Entry Training and Airborne School, he was assigned to 1-504th PIR, 1 BCT, 82nd Airborne Division. SFC Brown spent four years in the Red Devils deploying in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

MSG Brown’s next assignment was 1-501 PIR, 4th BCT, 25th ID at Fort Richardson Alaska. MSG Brown served as a Fire Team Leader and Squad Leader during this time. He participated in multiple training exercises in the INDO PACOM theater including Operation Talisman Sabre in Australia. He later served as a DA-selected Recruiter in North Texas for 4 years, where he completed a bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. 

His most recent assignment was in 2-504th PIR, 1 BCT, 82nd ABN DIV. MSG Brown spent three years as a Platoon Sergeant, participating in 3 no-notice deployments as part of the Army’s Immediate Response Force. In January 2020, MSG Brown mustered and outloaded his Platoon in less than 18 hours to deploy to central Iraq to provide security for coalition forces in response to Iranian aggression in the region. Later that summer, he again rapidly deployed to the National Capital Region to provide support for Civil Authorities defending National Monuments against rioters in the city. Finally, In August of 2021, MSG Brown’s Platoon was hand-selected to be among the first to land at Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan. Throughout this mission, he played a critical role in defending the airport against enemy activity and providing security for history's largest Noncombatant Evacuation Operation (NEO). 

Prior to receiving an assignment to the New River Battalion, MSG Brown was selected to serve as the Company First Sergeant for A CO 2-504th PIR. He served in this position from July 2022 to August 2023.  

MSG Brown’s military education includes the Senior Leader Course, Advanced Leaders Course, Warrior Leader Course, Pathfinder School, Jumpmaster School, Airborne School, Combat Lifesaver Course, and Army Recruiter Course.

His awards and decorations include the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Pathfinder Torch, Master Parachutist Badge, Senior Parachutist Badge, Parachutist Badge, Excellence in Competition Badge, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (6 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (6 OLC), Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Valorous Unit Citation, Meritorious Unit Citation and Army Superior Unit Award
