Sergeant First Class Joel Diaz is from Oceanside, CA. He enlisted as a Power Generation Equipment Repairer in June of 2010 and attending Army Basic Combat Training in January 2011. SFC Diaz most recently served as the S1 Senior Human Resources Sergeant in Sabre Squadron, 3d Cavalry Regiment at Fort Cavazos, TX. Brave Rifles!
SFC Diaz served in multiple staff and leadership positions to include Power Generation Equipment Repairer in the 501st Combat Aviation Brigade; Squad Leader in the 3d Cavalry Regiment; Equipment Record Parts Specialist NCOIC in the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment; Recovery Platoon Sergeant in the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment; Strength Manager Sergeant in the 1st Theater Tactical Signal Brigade; and Brigade S1 Senior Human Resources Sergeant in the 3d Cavalry Regiment.
SFC Diaz completed a combat tour in Afghanistan (2013) in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
SFC Diaz's military education include the Warrior Leader Course, Combat Lifesavers Course, Transport/Storage of Hazmat Material Course, Standard Army Maintenance System-Enhanced, Advanced Leader course, Common Faculty Development – Instructor Course, and Senior Leader Course.
His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (3), Army Achievement Medal (5), Army Good Conduct Medal (4), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, and Afghanistan Campaign Medal.
SFC Diaz is married to Valerie Diaz and they have two sons and one daughter. SFC Diaz and his family likes to travel to new destinations and play video games.
