Philip Yaure, an assistant professor in the Department of Philosophy, published “On Plantation Politics: Citizenship and Antislavery Resistance in Douglass’s My Bondage and My Freedom,” Philosophical Studies 180.3 (2023): 871–91; the special issue includes the best and most notable work from the American Philosophical Association Pacific Division 2020/2021 annual meeting.

In addition, Yaure gave the keynote presentation, “Seizing Citizenship: Frederick Douglass’s Abolitionist Republicanism” at the 13th Annual Undergraduate Philosophy Conference, which took place April 2 at William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.
