A scholarship was named for Barbara Lockee, Professor of Instructional Design and Technology in the School of Education and Associate Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs, for her scholarship, Native ancestry, and commitment to using technology to help preserve Indigenous languages. The Dr. Barbara Lockee Native American Tribal Honors Scholarship was established by Dr. Jeff Rudd, a 1983 alumnus in Biological Sciences and Philosophy; five $2,000 scholarship will be awarded each year to rising sophomores, juniors, or seniors who have a Native American tribal affiliation.
