Jessica Russell, a Communication Science and Social Inquiry major and International Marketing minor, was selected as the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences recipient of the 2023 Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society Senior Medallion.

She is a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Public Relations Student Society of America, National Communications Honors Society, Fashion Design and Merchandising Society, and Sigma Kappa sorority. A photographer for VT Vogue, Russell’s photography has been featured in the Moss Arts Center Student Arts Spotlight.

In Fall 2022 she participated in the Linking Lives and Creating Sustainable Social Change study abroad program in Lugano, Switzerland, and Musha, Rwanda; as a part of this experience, she co-authored a grant proposal focused on improving elementary education and English competence in a primary school in Musha.

During her undergraduate career at Virginia Teach she has been actively engaged in community service, raising funds for the Alzheimer’s Association, the Maine Seacoast Mission, and gerontology initiatives and participating in the Relay for Life and the Big Event.
