Planning, Governance, and Globalization doctoral student Yugasha Bakshi and School of Public and International Affairs faculty member Ralph Hall were part of the nine-member Virginia Tech delegation that participated in the United Nations Water Conference, which took place March 22–24 in New York, New York. Virginia Tech was one of only 22 academic institutions in the United States to earn accreditation to attend the conference, the first United Nations conference of its kind in more than 45 years. The conference resulted in the creation of a new United Nations panel on water and nearly 700 commitments totaling billions of dollars to a new Water Action Agenda from local and national governments, nonprofits, and corporations.
