Staff Sergeant Dylan Osborne

SSG Dylan Osborne was born and raised in Lebanon, VA. He enlisted in the Virginia Army National Guard in December 2014. He attended Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, OK, and completed his Advanced Individual Training at Fort Leonard Wood, MO, where he earned the Military Occupational Specialty of Motor Transport Operator (88M). Most recently, SSG Osborne served as the On Campus Recruiter at Radford University

Throughout his career, SSG Osborne has been assigned to various units within the Virginia Army National Guard. His assignments include serving as a Heavy Vehicle Driver with the 1032nd Transportation Co, Team Leader with 1173rd Transportation Co, High School Recruiter in Roanoke, VA and On Campus Recruiter at Radford University. SSG Osborne has served as the Simultaneous Membership Program NCOIC since May 2024 for both Radford University and Virginia Tech.

SSG Osborne’s military education includes the Basic Leader Course, 88M Advanced Leadership Course (Distinguished Honor Graduate), Common Faculty Development Instruct Course, Army National Guard Recruiting and Retention Course and Combat Lifesaving Skills

SSG Osborne completed one year at the Southwest Border Mission, Operation Phoenix Guard from 2020-2021.

His awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal (3rd award), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with “M” device, Army Achievement Medal (2nd award), Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, Basic Recruiting Badge, Senior Recruiting Badge and the Expert Recruiting Badge and multiple state awards.

SSG Osborne is married to his wife, Haley, and they have three sons: Colton, Isaiah, and Bennett. In his free time, he enjoys sports and coaching his sons' youth sports teams.
