Excellence in Literacy Education
The Virginia Tech Reading & Literacy Education Program offers a M.A.Ed. or Ph.D.
Students can pursue a Master's (M.A.Red.) degree along with the Reading Specialist endorsement. This state-approved, online program is designed for working professionals. The Literacy Education major within the Curriculum and Instruction Ph.D. program at Virginia Tech prepares scholars, teacher educators, literacy teachers, and literacy coaches to be leaders in their fields who can respond to the dynamic literacy needs of students in contemporary education.
Relevant, Research-Based Program
You will develop the knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary to transform teaching and learning, conduct groundbreaking research, and lead learning communities within and beyond your school and district. Challenging the status quo begins with instructional leaders who put educational excellence, innovation, and equity at the fore. Program faculty include widely published, nationally recognized authors and researchers with an average of over 15+ years of experience interfacing with K-12 educators.
