Faculty Won 2020 University Faculty and Staff Awards

The following faculty and staff members in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences were winners of a 2020 University Faculty/Staff Award:
María del Carmen Caña Jiménez, associate professor of Spanish in the Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures, was the recipient of the Alumni Award for Excellence in Teaching.
Carlos Evia, professor in the School of Communication, garnered the Principles of Community: Individual Contribution.
Jessica Folkart, professor of Spanish in the Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures, was awarded the William E. Wine Award for Teaching Excellence.
Mae Hey, assistant professor in the Department of Sociology, garnered the Presidential Principles of Community: Individual Contribution.
Buddy Howell, advanced instructor in the School of Communication, was the recipient of the Sporn Award for Excellence in Teaching Introductory Subjects.
Carol Mullen, professor in the School of Education, received the XCaliber Award, which recognizes integration of technology in teaching and learning.
Paul Quigley, associate professor in the Department of History and director of the Virginia Center for Civil War Studies, was the recipient for the Alumni Award for Outreach Excellence in Individual Achievement.
Takumi Sato, clinical assistant professor in the in the School of Education, garnered the Diggs Teaching Scholar Award.
