Carlos Evia, a professor in the School of Communication, was appointed Associate Dean for Transdisciplinary Initiatives in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences.  

He was named director of Transdisciplinary Initiatives last year and leads the college’s Academy of Transdisciplinary Studies.  

A member of the Virginia Tech faculty since 2004, Evia is an expert in cutting-edge technical communication and also serves as the college’s Chief Technology Officer.
