Captain Jacob Herzog

CPT Jacob Herzog is from Grand Rapids, Michigan and commissioned on December 18, 2018 as an Ordnance Officer from Michigan Technological University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Military Science with certifications in 3D modeling. He entered active duty as a gold bar recruiter prior to going to the Logistics Basic Officers Leadership Course in April 2019.

CPT Herzog has served in numerous positions, starting his career in August, 2019 as a Maintenance Platoon Leader in Echo Forward Support Company, followed by being the company Executive Officer, and then the Maintenance Control Officer for the 8^th Engineer Battalion, 2^nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1^st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood Texas. He completed one Europe Rotation and one rotation to the National Training Center in Fort Irwin California.  From Jun 2023 to September 2024, he served as the Support Operations Supplies and Services, and Plans Officer in the 426^th Brigade Support Battalion, 1^st Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 101^st Airborne Division Air Assault; completing his second rotation to Europe and a rotation to the Joint Multi-national Readiness Center. In September, he transitioned to company command, taking command of Bravo Field Maintenance Company in 426^th BSB, making the transition to Alpha Maintenance and Supply Company, 426^th Light Support Battalion, 101^st Division Sustainment Brigade, while also taking the company on a rotation to the Joint Readiness Training Center.

CPT Herzog’s military education include Logistics Basic Officer Leadership Course (Ordnance), Maintenance Managers Course, Global Combat Support System-Army course, Unit Movement Officers course, Unit Safety Leaders course, Combined Logistics Captains Career Course, Air Assault, Pathfinder, and Rappel Master.  His awards include the Expert Soldier Badge, Air Assault Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (2), Army Achievement Medal (3), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and the Overseas Service Ribbon, as well as the Ordnance Order of Samuel L. Sharpe and the Order of St. Michael (Cherubim).

CPT Herzog is engaged to Maggie Weber who is completing her nurse residency at VCU in Richmond, VA.  His hobbies include working on his jeep and truck, off roading, golf, and 3D modeling.
