Dr. Liora O’Donnell Goldensher is Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Sociology at Virginia Tech, where she is also affiliated with the program in Women’s and Gender Studies and the Department of Science, Technology and Society. Her current project, a clinical ethnography of homebirth midwifery practice, considers the changing politics of expertise and expert knowledge in the twenty-first century United States. Dr. Goldensher’s work has appeared in Social Problems, the Journal of Contemporary Ethnography, and Synapsis. In 2022-23, she will teach the Lavender House core course, Introduction to Queer Studies.
