Debra L. Stoudt has served as Associate Dean for Academic Policies and Procedures in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences since 2008. Her responsibilities include College oversight for assessment, faculty searches and hiring, international and outreach initiatives, and strategic planning.

Dr. Stoudt is Professor of German in the Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures. At Virginia Tech she has taught German culture, language, and literature courses. She advises German majors and assists students interested in studying in German-speaking countries. She has published on the medieval German mystics as well as magic and medicine in the Middle Ages. She is co-editor, with Beverly Mayne Kienzle and George Ferzoco, of A Companion to Hildegard of Bingen (Leiden and Boston: Brill, 2014).
