Shannon Marshall Mury, Child Development Center for Learning and Research, was named First Steps 2022 Early Childhood Champion of the Year at the Early Childhood Champions Awards. She was one of 19 award nominees. First Steps is an initiative of the Community Foundation of the New River Valley, which consists of more than 60 organizations dedicated to young children and their families.
