College Faculty Honored with 2022 Albert Lee Sturm Awards from Mu of Virginia Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa

Three College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences faculty members were honored with a 2022 Albert Lee Sturm Award from the Mu of Virginia chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.
Matthew Gabriele, a professor and chair of the Department of Religion and Culture, received the Sturm Award for Excellence in Research for his book The Bright Ages: A New History of Medieval Europe (HarperCollins, 2021), with David M. Perry.
Joint winners were recognized for the Sturm Award for Excellence in Creative Arts and Performance: Department of English faculty members Khadijah Queen and Matthew Vollmer. Queen was honored for her book of poetry titled Anodyne (Tin House Books, 2020) and Vollmer for This World Is Not Your Home: Essays, Stories, & Reports (EastOver Press, 2022).
