Jennifer Johnson was appointed Professor and Chair of the Department of Sociology. Johnson, who earned her Ph.D. from the University of Virginia, most recently served as Chair of the Department of Sociology at Virginia Commonwealth University. Among her principal areas of research are digital sexual media, sexual and relationship health, and social network analysis. Johnson assumed her Virginia Tech position in July 2021.
