Saul Halfon was appointed Chair of the Department of Science, Technology, and Society. Halfon, who earned his Ph.D. from Cornell University, joined the Virginia Tech community in 2000 as a Visiting Assistant Professor and is currently an associate professor in the Department of Science, Technology, and Society. Among his principal areas of research focus are the political sociology of technoscience and the technical practices of policy institutions.
