School of Education collegiate associate professor Joseph Mukuni and associate professor William Price were awarded a Fulbright–Hayes Fellowship by the U.S. Department of Education totaling $99,232 for their program, “Globalization Business Skills, Diversity Awareness, and Entrepreneurship Workforce Development in Zambia.”

Twelve Virginia Tech School of Education educators and graduates in the Career and Technical Education (CTE) program will be immersed into Zambian culture, education, business, industry, and government; they also will receive instruction in Tonga, one of the languages spoken in the country.

The goal is to make teachers aware of the challenges and coping strategies needed when interacting with English Language Learner students.
