Areej Khan, a philosophy, politics, and economics major, was elected administrative captain of the 2020-2021 Virginia Tech Rescue Squad.

The rescue squad, which is entirely student-run, has approximately 40-45 members and responds to some 1,200 emergency calls each year on the Virginia Tech Blacksburg campus.
