Three Students Received Fulbright Awards
Three College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences students were among seven from Virginia Tech awarded a Fulbrightfor 2020-2021.
Sarah Hansen, a Master of Fine Arts student in creative writing, was selected for the English Teaching Assistant Program and will teach in Latvia.
André Morana, international relations, received a research award for his project titled “Rainbow Street: The Voices of Jordanian Identity in Street Art”; Virginia Tech’s first veteran to be awarded a Fulbright, he will pursue his independent research in Amman, Jordan.
Andrés Orjales, a master’s student in political science, received an English Teaching Assistant Award and will teach in Madrid, Spain, as part of the Model UN program.
Originally scheduled to begin in the fall, the programs currently are slated to start in January 2021.
