Chelsea Woods is an assistant professor in the School of Communication at Virginia Tech, where she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in public relations. Her published research examines topics such as effective crisis communication strategies and activist organizations' efforts to incite corporate policy change. Her research appears in journals such as Journal of Public Relations Research, Public Relations Review, and Public Relations Inquiry, and has earned awards from the public relations divisions of the National Association of Communication and the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication. Before pursuing her Ph.D., she practiced public relations in the non-profit and hospitality sectors.
