An internship is an opportunity for you to gain real-world experience. You will obtain practical knowledge and build your network of professional contacts. 

Internships are available in a variety of industries, settings, and geographic locations. You can complete internships during the academic year, as well as during the summer.

Who is eligible to become an intern? 

Any student majoring in communication science and social inquiry, multimedia journalism, public relations, or sports media and analytics who meets the following requirements may participate in an internship for credit: 

1. Junior or senior status; at least 60 semester hours completed. 

2. Completion of 15 semester hours of communication courses.

3. A GPA of 2.5 in communication coursework. 

4. 6 credit hours specifically related to the internship, as determined by the Director of Internships.
