He is the Director of Diplomacy Lab, a specialized collaborative research program with the Department of State. He also serves as the Coordinator of Experiential Learning and leads department initiatives to prepare students for their paths after graduation from Virginia Tech.
His academic research focuses on aspects of Salafi Jihadist organizations towards their continued existence, growth, and as a threat to the United States. The Diplomacy Lab projects allow students to conduct research on Department of State client-based needs towards creating and presenting real-world foreign policy recommendations. His Experiential Learning based projects lead undergraduate students through research on strategic policies for emerging technology within the national security and defense sectors.
