Four ASPECT doctoral students took part in the Southern Sociological Society Annual Meeting:  Nada Berrada, “Invisible Young Women and Youth Policies in Morocco”; Mary Ryan, who chaired the paper sessions titled “Racial Inequality, Ideology, and the State” and “The Racial State” and presented “Governing Race: Riots, Police Brutality, and Democracy”; Ezgi Seref, “Human Rights at the Crossroads of Visibility and Invisibility: Intersectionality in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights”; and Molly Todd, “Biopolitics of Space: The Structuring of Race in Immigrant Detention Centers.” The meeting was held April 10–13 in Atlanta, Georgia.
