Every year, one of the highlights for School of Education faculty is commencement. Sure, it is the end of a busy semester or year, but the real joy is welcoming our students to join us as colleagues in their chosen field. And watching the impact that our alumni have on their communities, the nation, and the world is what keeps the School of Education vital and engaged.

Our alumni embody the best of Virginia Tech’s Core Values and our motto, Ut Prosim (That I May Serve). As Hokies, we embrace our charge to impact the world in positive ways through service to others, educational excellence, applied research, and advocacy.

As a graduate of the Virginia Tech School of Education, you are part of an esteemed group of more than 20,000 alumni. Individually and collectively, you are contributing to the fields of education, counseling and mental health, and higher education, serving in a range of public, private, and non-profit organizations.

The VT School of Education prides itself on its world-class faculty, innovative programs, and rigorous research that place equity and excellence at the forefront of all we do. You advance and promote the work of our School through your ongoing commitment to the education and well-being of children and youth, families and communities, and individuals across the life-span.

So much of what we know and value about our alumni are how you continue that work of the shared mission of Virginia Tech and the School of Education.
