Stephanie Smith, an associate professor in the School of Communication, received the Marshall School of Business 2022 Business Communication Impact Award for the co-authored article “Communication and Teleworking: A Study of Communication Channel Satisfaction, Personality, and Job Satisfaction for Teleworking Employees,” International Journal of Business Communication 55.1 (2018): 44–68, with Alyssa Patmos and Margaret J. Pitts.

The award recognizes an individual who draws positive attention to the business communication field; strengthens the journals that support the business communication field; provides resources and rationales for scholars in business communication; and writes high-impact business communication articles. The winner is based on the most citations over the past five years using Google Scholar data; articles published within the last ten years in the International Journal of Business Communication, Business and Professional Communication Quarterly, and Journal of Business and Technical Communication are eligible.
