Safyque xRichardson Won 2022 John D. Wilson Prize Phi Beta Kappa Essay Contest

Safyque xRichardson, a junior Creative Writing and Psychology major, won the 2022 John D. Wilson Prize Phi Beta Kappa Essay Contest for her essay titled “Reduction to the Black Body: Brutality in the Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass.” The contest, which is sponsored by the Mu of Virginia chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, recognizes excellence in undergraduate writing.
