Rachelle Kuehl, a postdoctoral associate in the School of Education, was awarded a fellowship from the National Academy of Education/Spencer (NAEd/Spencer) Foundation. The academy supports 25 early career scholars working in critical areas of education research; the $70,000 fellowships support postdoctoral proposals that make significant scholarly contributions to the field of education.

Kuehl manages the Appalachian Rural Talent Initiative, an outreach project of Virginia Tech’s Center for Rural Education. Her research is situated at the intersection of literacy, underserved populations, and place. Additional information can be found on the 2022 NAEd/Spencer Postdoctoral Fellows website.
