The Excellent Conference Adventure Workshop Series, Fall 2021 Edition

The Instructional Technology Student Association (ITSA), together with the School of Education Graduate Student Association at VT (SOE GSA) Announces:

Do you need to publish in a journal? Do you want to attend a conference and need to submit an abstract? Then come join our “Excellent Conference Adventure”  workshop series!

In this ‘Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure’ themed series we will follow two seemingly strange grad students, Sharon and Rebecca, on an epic quest to prepare the perfect conference proposal and attend a conference.

While focused on writing proposals for the EERA 2022 Conference, their journey will be relevant and general enough so that anyone who wants to can join the adventure and learn to write proposals for conferences and journal submissions.

All sessions will be recorded and the recordings will be made available on this page within 48 hours of the event.

Session 1: October 7 from 4:00-5:00.

Planning always involves questions. Let's discuss the initial questions that must be answered before you being your epic quest.

Using a unique and strange conversational format, our unusual presenters will lead you through the murky path to get started.

Session 2: October 21 from 4:00-5:00

You're about to embark on your epic quest. But wait! There are more questions that must be answered! Our strange and unusual presenters lift their flaming torches to light the way.

Session 3: November 11 from 4:00-5:00

You have your topic. You have your co-conspirators. You have your preferred format. Now, Sharon and Rebecca work with you to write and edit (and edit and edit) your proposal. Then, they lead you down the perilous path to submission (not to them - to the conference).

Session 4: November 18 from 4:00-5:00   Zoom link:

You've submitted your proposal. Phew! But wait! It's not over! Our strange and unusual presenters prepare you for the final stages of your Epic Quest.
