Working under the guidance of a professional mentor, you will have a unique opportunity to apply the theory and knowledge you've learned. Site supervisors help you observe and participate in the work of the organization, assisting you in engaging with clients and the professional environment.
Internship opportunities
A professional development program that provides students with summer internships in Paris, Berlin, London, Madrid, Barcelona, Tokyo, Santiago and Beijing. Past participants in our program have interned in finance, marketing, and non-profits at top companies like Microsoft, PwC, Morningstar, Deutsche Telekom, and BBDO.

Organization of American States
Internships at the Organization of American States (OAS) in Washington.
Internships in Dijon, France. Open to all VT students.
These ten-week paid internships are open to all students with a background in French. The internships are organized through the Groupe Ecole Supérieure de Commerce Dijon Bourgogne. The selection of students is made by the Pamplin College of Business but is open to all students. The duration of the internships is June 1st to August 15th. The coordinating school in France will attempt to match students' interests with jobs in the Dijon area. For more information contact Dr. Reed Kennedy.
Teaching Assistantships in France. French majors only.
The French government offers assistantships to teach in France. These permit students to spend seven months in France and to earn a small stipend for teaching English in a French school. For more information go to the French Embassy web page.

German majors and minors planning to study, intern, or conduct research in a German-speaking country may apply for a Jamie Bishop Scholarship

Internship with the Studierendenwerk Karlsruhe
Every year, a VT German major or minor may complete a six-week summer internship with the office of student services (Studierendenwerk) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. Information is shared annually via email, usually in October.

Highly competitive exchange program; includes language training (August-September), university study (October-January), and internship (February-June); fall deadline

non-profit exchange organization that promotes global understanding and assists students in finding and applying for internships
DAAD Research Internships in Science and Engineering (RISE)
German Academic Exchange Service places students in research labs at German universities.
Émigré Memorial German Internship Program – German State Parliaments (EMGIP)
One to three-month internships with a German state parliament (Landtag)
International Cooperative Education
Paid internships/work opportunities during the summer and for 1-2 semesters
Internationals Parliaments-Stipendium (IPS)
5-month (March – July) internships with the German Bundestag; deadline usually in June for the following year

Internship Program
UAS7 German Universities of Applied Sciences Study and Internship Program (SIP)
Study during German winter semester followed by an internship
