Scholarship, integrity in service, and commitment to teaching excellence are words that describe the qualities of the newest members of Kappa Delta Pi, an international honor society in education.

The society’s Xi Zeta chapter of Virginia Tech inducted 10 students on February 24 at the War Memorial Chapel on the Blacksburg campus.

Initiated graduate students from the School of Education included Tiffany Bishop, Karen Mumaw, and Kaitlyn Sorenson.

Students from the Department of Human Development and Family Science included Allison Cabrey, Natalie Garcia, Phoebe Jackson, Leah Schwartz, Kayla Thorne, Juliana Vossenberg, and Jamie Wieder.

In addition to showing dedication to the field of education, those inducted into Kappa Delta Pi meet requirements of high academic achievement, a commitment to education as a career, and a professional attitude that assures steady growth in the profession. The Xi Zeta chapter also stipulates volunteer service.
